Ingredients:

1 and 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup almond milk
Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, melted coconut oil, applesauce, vanilla extract, and almond milk.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Allow the muffins to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin and serving.
